Bishop Dr. Neville G. Wolliston grew up in a ministerial home. The second son of nine children, Neville, was born into the family of Overseer & Mother Wolliston in the West Indian Island of Jamaica. Answering a call to the missionary field, Overseer & the Wolliston family migrated to Birmingham, England in 1972 where young Neville would obtain his primary education. By divine providence in 1979 his parents moved to the United States and settled in Hartford, Connecticut. Under the influence of a family focused in service to the Lord, Neville accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of nineteen and followed that action with believer's baptism, subsequently realizing he had a deep passion for Christ and lost souls.
In 1984, he received his ministerial credentials with the call of the Lord to pastor with that an understanding of the pastor-ship having a greater significance than just being an inspirational speaker to the flock. He was appointed to lead in 1989 and ordained as pastor of this assembly. A ‘burden’ for betterment ensued and he aggressively pursued ministerial studies. After several years Rev. Wolliston earned postgraduate degrees in Psychology and Biblical Studies. In 2003, he earned a degree in the Psychology of Counseling in Hartford, Ct from the United Christian College. In 2005 he completed his theological studies with a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Anchor Theological Seminary in Edinburgh, Texas. The commitment to excellence in education has culminated in the launching of an exciting program R.E.A.C.H- Raising Educational Achievement and Cultivating Hope which is designed to help students of ALL AGES excel in academia.
Dr. Wolliston lives an exemplary life of purpose; on purpose. He is a vibrant, enthusiastic leader, proficient orator and an effective educator who presents the challenge to his parishioners; to aspire to the highest level of excellence and accountability. He urges every person to rise and accept their God given mandate to be and make disciples for the Kingdom, because he believes in showing practical love - by being the hands and feet of Jesus In that very spirit. 2014 began with a vision to A.S.S.I.S.TTM (Attending To Spiritual And Societal Needs Immersed Strategically In Teamwork) a LWEM project founded by Dr. Wolliston -- The A.S.S.I.S.T Project is designed to empower churches, located in rural or low economic parts of the world that proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, by helping meet the logistical needs required to be effective in their community.
LWEM family, which has grown to include, LWEM Springfield, Mass and LWEM Mississauga, Canada; a reflection of its leader, is a thriving and energetic group of believers who are excited about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the winning of lost souls. Currently, Dr. Wolliston serves as Senior Pastor of the Living Word Empowerment Ministries formerly known as United Pentecostal Church of God Assembly, President of the Living Word Bible Institute and Director of the Living Word Fitness Program – LIVE FIT offering exercise classes and Martial Arts Training. Dr. Wolliston’s vision is to serve the “total man”; extending the bridge of hope to those facing real life issues; providing encouragement to help maximize their lives; and assistance in realizing and fulfilling their God given purpose. Dr. Wolliston is a man of integrity and profound excellence; he is highly respected and well-regarded by his peers. The divine favor and the calling of God is evident upon his life. As a result one of his favorite sayings is, “If God can’t do it, it can’t be done!”
